When pitching to an investor, should I sell both myself and my idea?

You absolutely need to sell yourself. 50%+ of the reason investors invest is the CEO. But … almost paradoxically … IMHO … Generally speaking, do not sell yourself. What I mean is, it’s OK to try too hard when you sell the vision, the roadmap, the customers, etc. That’s good. That’s what we sort of expect in sales. But when you sell yourself too hard, that’s a bit of flag. Just tell investors who you are, what you did, and how you build the team. Do not ramble on for 5 minutes. Keep your bio to under 30 seconds. Practice that. Then, sell the product. That will sell you as the CEO better than any rambling bio ever could. View original question on quora
