What did Jason Lemkin mean when he said “It didn’t feel good” to be on a board where a female director had more stock than he did?

I was trying to use an anecdote to point out how wrong it is when men are more highly compensated than women. That equal pay is important on boards as well as employee pay. But it was a bit too subtle (how a man might feel, when in the rare instance, things were flipped around and was actually paid less than a female counterpart), so I deleted it and made a different point on it later. The idea was to challenge folks to make sure they were paying their board members and executives equally, and to share a small story of how it felt when the shoe was on the other foot … but then felt the micro-story wasn’t really crisp on the point.
